Common Klaviyo questions

Will Upbeat subscribe leads to my Klaviyo email list?

No — Upbeat adds leads as Klaviyo profile members, not subscribers. You manage email/SMS marketing consent inside Klaviyo per TCPA/GDPR. We don't presume consent on your behalf.

What custom properties does Upbeat send to Klaviyo?

We sync upbeat_stage (the lead's stage in our funnel — new, trial_booked, converted, etc.) and upbeat_source (where the lead came from). You can build segments on these.

Can I push historical leads from a CSV import to Klaviyo?

By default, CSV imports of historical leads do NOT push to Klaviyo — we don't want to spam your list with year-old contacts. Live new leads do push automatically.

Will it overwrite my existing Klaviyo profiles?

Klaviyo's profile-import is idempotent on email — we update existing profiles, not duplicate them. Custom properties get added; we don't clobber existing ones you set.

What if Klaviyo is down when a lead inquires?

The lead is created in Upbeat regardless. The Klaviyo push is fire-and-forget — failures show up on the Integrations health page, but never block lead creation or SMS.
